He was born on November 6, 1933 in Sheridan, the son of Von S. He was also preceded in death by one sister, Annabelle L. Stout Posey; and one brother, Richard “Buckshot” Stout. Melnyk and all the doctors and nurses from Hendrick Hospital North and Hendrick Hospice Care for their love and support. After graduating from high school in Carmel, California, he proudly served in the United States Marine Corps.

Wayne always wanted to drive a tractor and let his father and Shane be the mechanics. He also enjoyed hoeing cotton along the side of his mother.
